Pechaflickr Soccer

This week for writing Jeremiah and I have complete our pecha flickr story's and have recorded it on screencastify. First we worked on our pechaflirkr story. We wrote about a soccer game and how Samoa won against Niue. The fun part creating this was searching for images of different scenes of our story. For example finding a image of someone kicking or the crowd cheering. This week for writing our group were learning how to format or order a narrative story. We were also learning how to link ideas between paragraphs to make a connection. In the writing Jaydon and I have wrote we have used powerful words to paint a picture in the authors head.

Leap of Faith

The moon came up slowly and the earth started to sleep. I
decided tonight I was going to fly for the very first time. I felt scared and nervous to fly. I was concentrating to keep my balance. I looked around to see my mum hovering beside me. I tried to be brave and excited but my friends were all watching and
I didn’t want to fail with so many eyes looking at me.

Mum kept encouraging me so I knew I had to be brave. I held my breath, closed my eyes and jumped! The wind touched my
feathers, it tickled. I slowly opened my eyes and saw the grass was getting closer. I started to flap my wings as quickly as I could.

Last week we were doing writing, first, we had to write down our plan about the leap of faith. Then we wrote our story on a google doc. It's hard to make a story because I forget to use my plan, but I manage it. Thank you to Ms Anderson for helping me write the story

2 words 1 minute winter Olympics

This year the Winter Olympics was held in Pyeongchang in South Korea. Different countries compete in the winter sports. There are many people who are taking care of there equipment in each sport. People respect to other countries and sports when they lose. This year this theme is passion connects. There are different sport like Skiing, Ice hockey and + more sports. The passion connects means heaven people and earth.

Today I used my wordlist to make my paragraph and I followed Mrs Anderson's introduction

We talked about ideas with a partner, then we had 1 minute to put those ideas into sentences. We had to try our best to use all the words on our vocab list. After the minute was up we had 2 minutes to reread what we had written and make changes if anything didn’t make sense, or if we had words and punctuation in the wrong place. When we finished checking we had 2 more minutes to carry on writing our descriptions.

Then all of the words that I highlighted on my paragraph are on my word list. I did well on putting capital letters after a full stop. I need to remember to use my word list.

Let me tell you about the 2018 Winter Olympics…

Winter Olympics is a sports competitions were countries

represent their own country team. The Winter Olympics is

held in South Korea, Pyeongchang. It started on the 9th and ended on the 25th of February 2018.

In the winter Olympics they have many kind of sports.

There are 92 countries that played at the winter Olympics games.

The only sports that has a Rifle is Biathlon.

The Olympics values are Excellence, Respect and Friendship.

The Winter Olympics and the RIO Olympics are different, because the winter Olympics is

held in the winter season. When each team has won a game they will be given a gold, silver or bronze

medals The passion connect logo means the people, earth,  heaven. Each sports or events have there

own place of where they are going to play there sports game.

This morning we worked in pairs to talk about the Winter Olympics. First we had to face each others and talk about the winter Olympics then we had to back to back to write our paragraph. We had 5 minute to write about the winter Olympics. Joshua and I had to take turns and typing. It was hard because we were typing the same writing and had to make sure that what we wrote and what our partner wrote made sense.

Remembering Our Summer Holiday

I heard people laughing and screaming. I saw wet people everywhere. I heard the guy next to me gasp as the cold water hugged his dry body. I felt my body start to shiver, that water really was cold. I wondered if how much time we had before closing? I wondered when we were coming back?

Today we used different language features to help us describe an event from our summer holidays. I have used my words to show rather than tell you what was happening. Can you work out where I was and what I was doing?

When we use A or an

Today we were learning when to use and when to use an before a word.If a word begins with a vowel (a-e-i-o-u) or a silen h (eg-hour), we use an.We use a for all other words. The photo shows the sentences we wrote to practice using a and an.

Personification

We made this DLO to help us understand personification. Personification is when you use your words to make something that is not human sound like it is.

Game Called Midnight

I felt happy when I first went to play midnight because it is a cool game. I was pumped up with energy, and ready for the game. If we kept moving our slots, we had to do star jumps. We played on the field and the grass tickled my feet as I was running.

Midnight was a hard game for me because we had to freeze when Mr Ogilvie turned around. I kept moving because when I run, I can’t stop. AHHHH! When the bell rang we went back to class and I felt very tired from all the running I had done.

Explanation

Learning Intention:  

• To write an explanation that tells the reader why my blog is unique

A blog is a website that you can post your learning on. It goes around to a global audience. All blogs are different and that makes them unique. My blog is special because it’s different to everyone else’s blog.

I have 5,200 views on my blog. That means 5,200 people have looked at my examples of learning that I shared with the world. Each post has a blurb that tells what I have been learning.

I give each post a title and I label it so that my work is easy to find. For example if I post a poem I label it, ‘Explanation, Writing, Jaydon,  2017’  so that people searching for my explanation can find it quickly.

There is comments section under each post. This also makes your blog is unique because it allows people to give comments and information that is special to you about your learning.

Anyone around the global can view what you are learning. All blogs are different and that makes them unique and I think that blog is special because it’s different from everyone else’s blog.

Today we did writing we were talking about why my blog is unique. Unique means that it is different to someone else. My partner was Jona. Jona did really well working with me.

If I was an animal I would like to be a dog because they bark,run,they eat,play and sleep.
The thing that I like about dogs that they bark very loud.
I would like to have a bulldog  because they are cool.
